Stephanie Simmons, SEK Consultant / Autism Specialist

Background: I began working for Integrated Behavioral Technologies (IBT) 15 years ago with the goal of helping children on the autism spectrum. Over time, I developed a deep passion for Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), which led me into the school setting where I spent seven years teaching in self-contained classrooms and providing behavioral consulting services. In 2023, I returned to IBT as the Clinic Director and am now transitioning into a part-time consultant role while also gaining valuable experience working in residential settings with children impacted by challenging behaviors.

Area of Expertise/Focus: My primary focus is early intervention.

Motivation: What motivates me most about IBT is the organization’s genuine commitment to family involvement and its dedication to improving the quality of life for every individual we serve. I love being part of a team that helps families experience milestones and moments that once seemed impossible. Seeing our clients make progress and watching the positive impact on their families drives my passion for this work every day.

Hobbies/Passion: Outside of work, I enjoy watching my kids’ activities, swimming, and spending time with my family.

Favorite Memory at IBT: One of my favorite memories is working with a family whose daily car rides were incredibly stressful due to their son’s problem behaviors. I was able to ride with him, target those behaviors directly, and coach his mom on strategies she could use. Within about a month, he was no longer engaging in problem behaviors during car rides. The family now enjoys traveling together without those challenges, and they can participate in more activities as a family. Moments like these remind me why I love what I do.
