Background: Before joining Integrated Behavioral Technologies, I worked as a mental health practitioner and direct service provider at the Minnesota Autism Center from 2004 to 2006, and later as an independent behavior technician in Savannah, Georgia from 2006 to 2011. I moved to Kansas in 2011 and have been with IBT for the past 16 years. Along the way, I completed leveling coursework at Kansas State University in Communication Science and Disorders and went on to pursue my BCaBA and BCBA certifications, ultimately earning my BCBA in 2017.
Area of Expertise/Focus: My areas of focus include authorizations, programming across age groups and developmental levels, targeted case management, and connecting families with resources.
Motivation: I’m motivated by ensuring families are connected with the resources they need and by helping the skills we teach in DTT or contrived settings generalize to everyday environments, people, and social opportunities.
Hobbies/Passion: Outside of work, I enjoy working on my website, serving as an admin on a Facebook page, and continuing to grow my knowledge about targeted case management as well as state and national resources. I’m also raising my two daughters, Lola (14) and Lana (10), which means I often find myself in the role of “dance mom”—and soon, driving instructor! I enjoy spending time at coffee shops and at home with our doodle dog, Evie, and our cat, Molly.
Favorite Memory at IBT: Some of my favorite memories come from watching how programs evolve over time. I love reading research and then applying it to create assessments that guide our work. More recently, I’ve enjoyed delving into shared interests, guiding deeper conversations, and shaping language through high-affect games. I also find great meaning in supporting families in rural areas, running social groups, and building connections with schools and community agencies.
