Linda S. Heitzman-Powell
Executive Director / Founder

Background: I began my journey in foster care working with children who had behavioral disorders. At the time, I often felt that no one was listening, so I pursued higher education—starting college in San Diego, CA, and eventually moving to Kansas for my doctorate. While completing my clinical training in diagnostics at the University of Kansas Medical Center, I discovered the field of autism diagnostics and treatment and saw firsthand the challenges families were facing.

Because of this, I founded Integrated Behavioral Technologies (IBT) as a not-for-profit safe space for individuals diagnosed with autism and their families.

Area of Expertise/Focus: As the Executive Director, I see myself as a “jack of all trades,” helping in many areas to keep our mission moving forward.

Motivation: What motivates me most is helping people-whether with conditions, behaviors, or life challenges-find the support they need to thrive.

Hobbies/Passion: Outside of work, I love swimming, spending time with my kids, grandkids, and their significant others, and celebrating special occasions. I especially enjoy blowing things up on the 4th of July and celebrating birthdays with the people I love.

Favorite Memory at IBT: One of my favorite experiences is hearing about the “children” I have worked with over the years graduating from college. Watching them grow into successful adults is one of the most meaningful parts of my work.
