We got into this business due to our love of community and service. Being the “new kids on the block,” we really wanted to ingrain ourselves in the local community as quickly as possible. After all the community does to support us in Lenexa and North Kansas City, we owe it to them to try and make a difference in our neighborhood whenever we can.
One lucky day, we met Jon Durney at our restaurant in Lenexa and we immediately hit it off. The conversation started like most do at our place, talking about sports, craft beers, and our love for the game of golf. This quickly evolved once we learned of the tremendous work that his team at Integrated Behavioral Technologies does for autism acceptance throughout the state of Kansas. He shared with us the necessity to raise funds to support the families and the therapists that work in the field across the state of Kansas. We wanted to see how we could help.
Over the past two years, we have participated in the Ales for Acceptance program in which we were able to raise roughly four thousand dollars to help support IBT’s cause. While very proud of this effort, we wanted to do more. After brainstorming how we could really make an impact and raise the necessary funds, we knew what we had to do. We needed to marry our love and passion for sports, craft beers, and golf to launch the first annual Jefferson’s Charity Golf Outing benefitting IBT.
We are ecstatic to have partnered with IBT and joined in their effort to provide resources and diagnoses to local children. Let this be a day of fun, some terrible golf shots, good times with friends, and philanthropy towards a great cause.
